The Galician recipe for cooking octopus is the favourite of all of Spain. This recipe is very tasty, nutritious, and healthy that it will become the star of every table.

We would need:

  • Fresh or frozen octopus
  • 2 kg of potato
  • 1 kg Sweet or smoked Paprika
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt
Preparation process:

Heat the water in a large stewpot.  When the water is starting to boil, take the octopus by the head and submerge it three times in the water to “scare it”, then leave it in the cooking water. When the water starts to boil again, let it cook for about 30 minutes. To know if the octopus is done, you have to prick it in the thickest part of the tentacles and if the consistency is like a boiled potato, we can take it out. In the same water to cook the octopus, add the potatoes and cook them for 15 minutes. To serve the dish, cut the potatoes into 1cm slices and put them as a base, then cut the octopus into small pieces and put them on top of the potatoes. Add salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Enjoy!
